Gina Guerra-Sacchetti
Meet Gina
Therapy, like a lot of life events, requires patience, trust, and learning more about ourselves and the world around us. Within the therapeutic space, I emphasize creating a foundation of safety and building upon our therapeutic relationship through learning more about your interests, prioritizing authenticity in our sessions, and collaborating throughout the process to ensure your goals and needs are being met. I strive to ensure you and your child feel comfortable and supported in our space and am open to taking creative approaches through the arts or activities to help you engage in this process. You are the expert on you or your child, and I am here to help you reach your full potential!
Some of the concerns I enjoy working with include anxiety, depression, anger, OCD, self esteem, emotion regulation, neurodiversity, and with the LGBTQIA+ community.
"Healing is an art. It takes time, it takes practice, it takes love." -Maza Dohta
More About Gina’s Work
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois and earned my Master’s degree from Roosevelt University. I have experiences in different levels of care, ranging from hospital and residential settings to community-based work. My favorite approaches include play and art therapy tailored with a person-centered approach that focuses on meeting you where you are at, acknowledging the journey you are on, and promoting growth through our work together. I also utilize different modalities, such as DBT and CBT, when appropriate. I am providing play therapy services while working toward Play Therapy certification under the supervision of Jessica Bloom, LCPC, RPT-S.
Whether working with parents and caregivers or with the client, as a whole, I take a collaborative, warm approach - free of judgement and promoting working together as a team to best support your child and their individual needs. I strive to ensure you feel heard and seen, and together, we will learn and develop tools and plans to help support yourself and your child.
